    Back in Black!

My BlackBerry is back again after I dropped it a few weeks ago and had to have it repaired again from the same place in Florida. Unfortunately, I dropped it again and cracked the plastic cover over the LCD. Fortunately, it's a cheap and inexpensive fix that I can get on ebay. I felt dumb for cracking it so soon after I got it back, but then again at least I can fix it myself this time.

Aside from breaking stuff, I've been hanging out a lot with my new friend from my Game Programming class who I've pretty much just gotten to know over the past 2 weeks. It's an interesting situation because he's younger than me, and already wants to be more than friends. I don't know if I want that also, but I do enjoy spending time with him. He's been very helpful in getting me more into Video Games and teaching me a lot about computers. Yes, he sounds like a geek, which he is. I think the main thing I am concerned about is the age difference, but I think I could get past it since we do get along so well.

Another concern though is that there's a guy in Irvine (originally from Rochester, NY), who's also nice and interested. We get along fine, but I think our conversation is a little strained. He's a really talented artist and seems smart enough, but our main contact is email and the times we've met in person have been a little awkward to me. He's also 4 years younger than me, but I don't think we have much of a connection. Another thing is that he's always trying to finish my sentences, which I kind of find annoying.

Life is Good in the Greenhouse

So much has happened in these past few weeks! The most exciting news is that I got a part time job writing content for a web development/ecommerce company and I started today officially. It's my first real job since 2004. The company is fairly close and related to what I want to do... My friend Christian and I were trying to start our own online business (LC Crafted) of selling handcrafted items for special occasions. It seems like a lot of work to make it an actual business, I think we were just going to do it as a side project and sell with Paypal.

Aside from that, I've been to a few good shows (The Faint/Moving Units @ Club Nokia being the latest). I also saw Friendly Fires and Los Campesinos! last weekend at the Glass House in Pomona (on 2 separate nights). My classes have also been good, I have both old and new friends in my classes and it's very nice to have someone to talk to. There even seems to be a few guys interested in me, which seems unusual to me. I was going through a dry spell in terms of dating, for pretty much all my life. The only thing troubling me now is getting my homework done and managing my time with all the classes and new work hours.

I have a couple game related assignments due next week and have yet to start on them. I hope this doesn't mean I'm going to have trouble with all my assignments. If so, I guess I can drop some classes. Still, I want to learn to use GameMaker and Python and I want to play old DOS games. I think I'll have time this weekend to do everything, or at least on Thursday and Friday nights. We'll see how well I can manage my time. My assignments aren't that difficult, I just have to figure out when and how to get them done!

    Have you ever...

Found yourself obsessing over someone you know isn't right for you? Not because you like them so much, but maybe you worry about them and want to help them because they're so weird. This was how I was in July, chatting for hours on end with a rather creepy guy over AIM. I'll let you know more info if you want, but for starters, I thought he might've actually cared about me as a person. Silly me, when they're that messed up - who knows if they care about anyone but themselves. I wanted to just brush it off and forget about him because he never seemed to want to meet or even try talking over the phone. There are actually plenty of nice normal people who want to meet me in person and yet, here I am trying to figure out what this one whack job is thinking. Is it being a psych major that makes me want to see how the crazies tick? I think it might be. I did like focusing on abnormal psych. Anyways, if you're really interested in discussing this rather unusual situation, I'm always looking to vent.

    BlackBerry Blues

I'm kind of sad because my BlackBerry Curve stopped charging it's batteries. Fortunately, I have a SquareTrade warranty that will allow it to be fixed by mailing it off to Florida via UPS.  In the meantime, I have my old Motorola RAZR V3M, which seems so old and slow. Oh well, maybe it'll be worth the wait to get it fixed... I hope it will be, but I'll be so sad without it.
